Molecular modelling and dynamics simulations of single-wall carbon nanotube as a drug carrier: New insights into the drug-loading process

Natalia L. von Ranke et al.

Summary: This study investigates the interactions between single-wall carbon nanotubes and three different anticancer drugs using computer modeling approaches. The results show that the physicochemical characteristics of the drugs influence their affinity towards the carbon nanotubes, and a diameter of 20.3 angstrom is found to be the most favorable for encapsulating the drugs.

Experimental and density functional theory studies during a new solid phase extraction of phenolic compounds from wastewater samples prior to GC-MS determination

Mir Ali Farajzadeh et al.

Summary: In this study, a commercial polymer-based dispersive solid phase extraction method was used for the extraction of phenolic compounds from wastewater samples. The method involved the use of polyvinylpyrrolidone as a sorbent and sodium chloride to disperse it into tiny particles. The compounds were then eluted using a deep eutectic solvent synthesized from choline chloride and alpha-terpineol. The optimized conditions resulted in good extraction performance and analytical parameters.

Elnaz Marzi Khosrowshahi et al.

Summary: In this research, a convenient, fast, and green dispersive solid phase extraction method based on Ti2C nanosheets was developed for effective enrichment of triazole pesticides. The method exhibited a wide working range, low detection limits, and acceptable extraction recoveries, and was successfully applied to the extraction and determination of the pesticides from fruit juice samples.

Geometry-controlled carbon nanostructures as effective drug delivery carriers for MAO enzyme inhibitors: A DFT study

Milad Nouraliei et al.

Summary: Density functional theory calculations were used to study the drug delivery performance of carbon nanostructures in gas and solvent phases, revealing that the interactions between MAOIs and nanostructures were typically physisorption, and their stability might be contributed to the formation of intermolecular hydrogen bonds. Theoretical results showed that the structural properties of MAOIs did not significantly alter the adsorption of drug molecules on carbon nanostructures surfaces.
