Photoluminescence Enhancement by Light Harvesting of Metal-Organic Frameworks Surrounding Semiconductor Quantum Dots

Kohei Kumagai et al.

Summary: Metal-organic framework (MOF) based light harvesting, particularly with IRMOF-3 as a surface modifier, enhances the photoluminescence of semiconductor quantum dots (QDs) through efficient energy transfer. Directly growing IRMOF-3 crystals on the surface of QDs significantly improves the energy transfer efficiency, leading to a nearly doubled photoluminescence intensity from QDs under optimal conditions. This demonstrates the advantage of using light-harvesting MOFs as a surface modifier for luminescent QDs.
