The influence of tensile strengthening on the magnetic properties (magnetization and power losses) and the microstructure (dislocation patterns and antiphase boundaries) of ordered intermetallic 2% V-CoFe is investigated. The overall magnetic properties of the alloy drastically deteriorate right from the start of the strengthening and a strong magnetoplastic anisotropy effect appears. (C), 2000 Elsevier Science B.V.
