Fe-based amorphous powder cores with glass binder were fabricated by hot-pressing techniques at 1-1.5 GPa and 683-733 K. The cores had superior magnetic properties compared with Sendust powder cores. The coercivity was half and flux density at 300 O-e was 30% higher. The initial permeability up to 1 MHz was about 100 and the loss at 100kHz for B-m = 0.1 T was 660 kW/m(3). The former was comparable to that of Sendust and the latter was 20% lower. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
