The octanuclear cluster of silver(I) [Ag-8(mu(6)-S){S2P(OC2H5)(2)}(6)] comprises eight Ag atoms located at the corners of a cube elongated along the threefold axis with a mu(6)-S atom in its center and each sulfur atom of the S2P(OC2H5)(2)(-) ligand bridges two opposite sides of a cubic face formed by four Ag atoms. An infinite arrangement of {[Ag-8(mu(6)-S){S2P(OC2H5)(2)}(6)]. H2O}(infinity) is formed along the c-axis. (C) 2000 Elsevier Science S.A. All rights reserved.
