Study of exposure fire spread between buildings by radiation

This paper describes full-scale experimental studies of exposure fires between buildings caused by radiant heat fluxes generated from flames issuing from window openings. Using wood cribs as fuels for three different fire load conditions, single room and double room tests with different window and door opening conditions were conducted in a two-story building. The applicability of mathematical models for assessing exposure fire by radiation between buildings is discussed in the light of the collected experimental data.
