The stretched exponential (SE) and the power law (PL), fitting equally well the disulfide recombination of a de-novo peptide, differ markedly in estimation of thiyl radical population. This leads to quite different lifetime distribution functions encompassing about 20% (ES) or 70% (PL) of the radicals. For inhomogeneous recombination kinetics, the interpretation of the PL in terms of superposition of first-order decays is compared with that in terms of superposition of second-order decays.
