Inhomogeneous structures in the t-t′ Hubbard model

The inhomogeneous structures of the one-band Hubbard model are reexamined including a hopping term t' between next-nearest neighbors as required on phenomenological grounds to describe the physics of the cuprates. It is shown that, at sufficiently large values of t'/t, a rich phenomenology is to be expected between the antiferromagnetic phase at half filling and a ferromagnetic phase at lower fillings.
