Organic nano-wires and nano-networks have been formed with polyaniline (PANI) and polyaniline doped with [60]fullerene derivatives II, 2]. The length of conducting nanofibrils is in the range of 500-2000 nm and the thickness 15-70 nm. Nanofibrils can be organised in 2-dimensional (2D) or 3-dimensional (3D) non-periodic networks with good electrical contact. Average distance between contacts is about 750 nm and 500 nm for a 2D and 3D system, respectively. The density of contact points (cells) is about 1 mum(-2) for a dispersed 2D network and about 10 mum(-3) for a compact 3D network. The samples were prepared as thin layers and details of the nano-structure were examined with the aid of a scanning electron microscope (SEM).
