Evaluation of rate constants for conformational transitions using single-molecule fluorescence spectroscopy

We develop formulae for translating single-molecule fluorescence spectroscopic data into estimates of the rate constants for slow conformational transitions between two states with different lifetimes of the fluorescent probe.
