A three-dimensional symmetrical condensed TLM node for acoustics

The transmission line modelling (TLM) method is applied to acoustic problems. A three-dimensional (3-D) symmetrical condensed node for acoustics and the corresponding scattering matrix are presented. A full development of the analogy between acoustic-held quantities and pulses at the nodes is carried out that also allows the definition of excitation techniques and the imposition boundary conditions. Finally, numerical examples prove the satisfactory behaviour of the TLM method in acoustics. (C) 2001 Academic Press.
