Full-color passive-matrix organic EL displays

Full-color passive-matrix 5.7 in, diagonal quarter video graphic array (320 x 240 pixels) organic electroluminescence displays with a passive-matrix drive have been proven to be practical for commercial purposes. The display panels have an anti-reflection filter with a transmittance of 70%. The maximum brightness of the panels was up to 140 cd/m(2) because of the use of the dual-scan driving method, improvement of the device characteristics, and pixels having an effective aperture ratio of about 70%.
