The X-ray structural analyses reveal that the title complex contains the Mn(saloph) [saloph = N,N ' -O-phenylenebis(salicylide-neaminato)] moieties bridged by single acetato groups in an anti-anti configuration to form linear polymer chains. Variable temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements (4.7-270 K) show the occurrence of very weak antiferromagnetic interactions between the Mn(III) ions with J = -1.32 cm(-1) and D = -0.72 cm(-1).
