A superlattice structure commonly existing in Pb(Mg1/3Nb2/3)O-3 was detected by selected-area electron diffraction (SAED) and high-resolution electron microscopy (HREM), The computer simulation of the SAED and HREM showed that this superlattice structure might result from local nanosize planar antiferroelectric ordered dipoles sheets. A possible model has been proposed.
