Pathophysiology of nerve compression

Critical to the management of the patient with carpal tunnel syndrome is an understanding of the pathophysiology of nerve compression. Similarly, an understanding of the anatomy of the peripheral nerve and its response to injury is an absolute necessity in the discussion of the pathophysiology of compression neuropathy.
