Use of insulin pump therapy in the United States has dramatically increased during the last decade. Pump therapy is now regarded as a safe and viable alternative in adults, adolescents, and children with diabetes. In a series of follow-up studies involving more than 800 patients, Drs Bode, Tamborlane, and Davidson have documented the advantages of pump therapy and the keys to its successful use.
