Association of skin cholesterol content, measured by a noninvasive method, with markers of inflammation and Framingham risk prediction

A novel skin cholesterol test reflects calculated Framingham risk, but is also determined to some extent by circulating markers of inflammation, particularly intercellular adhesion molecule-1. The test appears to reflect 2 important and independent determinants of cardiovascular risk.
