Multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) is successfully immobilized on the surface of platinum electrode by mixing with DNA. The DNA/MWCNT modified electrodes are characterized by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. Further research indicates that cytochrome c can strongly adsorbed on the surface of the modified electrode, and forms an approximate monolayer. The immobilized MWCNT can promote the redox of horse heart cytochrome c which gives reversible redox peaks with a formal. potential of 81 mV vs SCE. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V.
