Search for molecular bands in 13C

In a systematic search through experimental results for transfer reactions, inelastic excitations and other data for C-13 we identify states which have no simple structure related to the low-lying states of C-12. We propose that these states have strong a-clustering and that they are related to chain states expected in C13-14. The properties of these states are discussed on the basis of a molecular orbital model.
