Wetting of textured surfaces

We discuss quantitatively the wetting of a solid textured by a designed roughness. Both the hydrophilic and the hydrophobic case are described, together with possible implications for the wetting of porous materials. (C) 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
