Comments on Intergranular fracture caused by trace impurities in an Al-5.5 mol% Mg alloy

Intergranular fracture at elevated temperatures in Al-5 wt.%Mg alloys is discussed and compared with embrittlement in other aluminium alloys, particularly with regard to embrittlement by sodium impurities.
