Effect of hydrated sodium silicates on cement paste hardening

The hydration of cement clinker minerals occurs at a high rate in the presence of sodium silicates owing to a decrease in the initial pH of pore solutions of cement pastes and to intensive formation of calcium hydrosilicates.
