Thick Pb(ZrTi)O-3 PZT films were formed using electrophoretic deposition (EPD) technique. The zeta potential and conductivity of the PZT colloid were measured as a function of pH to identify the optimum suspension condition for deposition. Electrophoretic deposition of thick PZT films under constant applied voltage was performed and the effect of applied voltage on deposition mass was investigated. The electrode reaction phenomenon during the deposition was also studied. The particle packing density of the depositions at various applied voltages was quantified and the results were further verified by microstructural examinations using a scanning electron microscope.
