An efficient method for the conversion of aromatic and aliphatic nitriles to the corresponding N-tert-butyl amides:: a modified Ritter reaction

Aromatic and aliphatic nitriles react with tert-butyl acetate in the presence of a catalytic amount of sulfuric acid to give the corresponding N-tert-butyl amides in excellent yields. (C) 2003 Published by Elsevier Science Ltd.
