Efficient α-iodination of carbonyl compounds under solvent-free conditions using microwave irradiation

Direct conversion of carbonyl compounds into alpha-iodocarbonyl compounds has been successfully achieved under solvent-free microwave irradiation conditions using N-iodosuccin-imide and p-toluenesulfonic acid.
