A novel cyclodextrin derivative: mono(6(A)-N-allylamino-6(A)-deoxy)perphenylcarbamoylated beta-cyclodextrin was synthesized. Hydrosilylation with (EtO)(3)SiH and then reaction of the reactive siloxane with pristine silica gel afforded a facile entry into a durable, structurally well-defined chiral stationary phase capable of enantioseparation of a variety of racemic drugs.
