Large-scale genetic differentiation of Pagrus pagrus in the Atlantic

Red porgy Pagrus pagrus from the north-eastern, north-western and south-western Atlantic were found to be genetically distinct as determined by mitochondrial DNA analysis. There were no shared composite restriction fragment haplotypes, and nucleotide sequence differences averaged 2% among these locations. (C) 2003 The Fisheries Society of the British Isles.
