Rhodium-induced fragmentation and rearrangement of 4,7,10-trithiatrideca-2,11-diyne

The reaction of 4,7,10-trithiatrideca-2,11-diyne with RhCl(PPh3)(3) results in cleavage and rearrangement of the diyne with formation of the structurally characterized complex RhCl(CdropCMe)(PPh3){kappa(3)-S,S,S-S(CH=CH2)CH2CH2SCH=CMeS}.
