We consider flows on a cylinder and use a streamfunction formulation to derive a nonlinear equation governing steady-state flows in that geometry. Comparing this equation to the counterpart for plane flows allows us to write down vortex solutions for flow on a cylinder. (C) 2003 American Institute of Physics.
