Visual dysfunction, neurodegenerative diseases, and aging

This article provides an overview of the impact of the aging process on visual function. Common aging-related eye diseases and conditions are described, as are aging-related visual problems faced by older adults even when they are free from eye disease. Special consideration is given to the visual manifestations of two neuro-degenerative diseases that occur in the elderly, Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease.
