Alternating current impedance and direct current time-dependence measurements of Poly(dG).Poly(dC) DNA thin film were carried out at several humidities, using micro- and nanoelectrodes. The results show that the dominant conduction mechanism is not due to electron transport but to ionic conduction through water layers under atmospheric conditions.
