A 3D map of an interior grain and its crystallographic orientation in a single-phase bulk sample has been obtained non-destructively, for the first time, by 3DXRD microscopy using an algebraic reconstruction method. The method is new and has potentials for in situ 3D mapping of structural changes during for example annealing. (C) 2003 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
