A new route to acyclic nucleosides via palladium-mediated allylic alkylation and cross-metathesis

A method for the syntheses of E-unsaturated acyclic nucleosides via a combination of palladium-catalyzed allylic alkylation and ruthenium-based cross metathesis is described.
