Accumulation of 2,2-difluoroethanol by bacteria

2,2-Difluoroethanol was accumulated by bacteria, giving difluoroacetic acid and so on. The conversion of 2,2,-difluoroethanol to difluoroacetic acid is unusual in a biological system. (C) 2004 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
