Enhanced direct flexoelectricity has been observed in paraelectric phase of Ba(Ti0.87Sn0.13)O-3 ceramics by using a quasi-static cantilever beam system. The transverse flexoelectric coefficient was found to be about 53 mu C/m near the Curie temperature. Temperature-dependence of the transverse flexoelectric coefficient was studied, exhibiting a nonlinear relationship with dielectric constant.
