The electro synthesis of polythiophene film from 2,2-bithiophene monomer was investigated using different electrochemical tehniques. The stability and electrical conductivity of the prepared film were studied. The most stable polythiophene film which also show slow relaxation (lowest relaxation time) was obtained using a galvanostatic technique in acetonitrile solvent with TBAPF(6) as supporting electrolyte at 5 degreesC. As the donor number of the solvent increases, the relaxation time decreases. The relaxation time is also sharply affected by temperature. (C) 2004 Published by Elsevier B.V.
