Synthesis of monodisperse iron oxide nanocrystals by thermal decomposition of iron carboxylate salts

Iron oxide (Fe3O4, magnetite) nanocrystals of 6 to 30 nm with narrow size distributions (sigma=5-10%) were prepared by the pyrolysis of iron carboxylate salts.
