A mathematical model will be analyzed in order to study the effects of thermal radiation on the laminar boundary layer about a flat-plate. The complete boundary layer equations are solved numerically and the variations of dimensionless surface temperature and heat transfer characteristics for different values of Prandtl number Pr and radiation parameter N-R are graphed and tabulated. An interesting result of the analysis is that as the value of NR increases, a diminution in the thermal radiation's effect occurs. (c) 2007 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
