In the title compound, C19H13NO5, the five fused rings are essentially coplanar, while one of theO- Me bonds lies almost perpendicular to that plane. The molecule is stabilized by C-H center dot center dot center dot O intermolecular hydrogen bonds, which form zigzag polymeric chains parallel to the b axis.
