A novel method to synthesize LPG fuel directly from syngas with a hybrid catalyst is presented. The new hybrid catalyst, consisting of (Pd-Ca/SiO2) and beta-zeolite, showed a high activity and selectivity for LPG fraction. It also showed a higher stability than Cu-Zn/USY at high reaction temperature. The sintering of palladium metal was main contribution to the deactivation of the hybrid catalyst (Pd-Ca/SiO2)/beta-zeolite. (c) 2005 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
