The solid-state structure and NMR parameters of the heavier carbene analogue [Pb{Ph2PC(H)Py}-{N(SiMe3)(2)}] (1), obtained in the reaction of the phosphane Ph2P(CH2Py) with [Pb{N(SiMe3)(2)}(2)] are discussed.
