Synthesis of new iminocoumarins and their transformations into N-chloro and hydrazono compounds

The Knoevenagel reaction between 2-hydroxybenzaldehydes and active methylene compounds (malononitrile and ethyl cyanoacetate) produces iminocoumarins and/or coumarins.
