0.7PbMg(1/3)(Nb0.9Ta0.1)(2/3)O-3-0.3PbTiO(3) (PMNT-PT) ceramic was prepared with solid-state reaction method. The sample was characterized with x-ray diffraction and dielectric constant measurement, which ensured the high quality of the sample. The focus of this study is the pyroelectric properties of PMNT-PT ceramics. We measured the hysteresis loops at different temperatures and frequencies. The spontaneous and remnant polarizations as a function of temperature were obtained. An anomaly of remnant polarization as a function of temperature was found and discussed. Particularly, we measured the pyroelectric current with a Keithley 6485 Picoammeter. The maximum of the current is as high as 108 nA/cm(2). 5 (c) 2005 American Institute of Physics.
