Recent accomplishments in arranging semiconductor nanoparticles in a desired manner are reviewed. Coupling mechanisms utilized for this purpose include electrostatic and covalent interactions, methods like layer-by-layer assembly, solvent-controlled precipitation and surface amination for covalent attachment of nanoparticles are employed.
