In this paper the production of excited vector and pseudoscalar charmonium mesons in e(+)e(-) annihilation is analyzed in the framework of the light cone. In particular the cross sections e(+)e(-)->psi(2S)eta(c)(1S),psi(1S)eta(c)(2S),psi(2S)eta(c)(2S) have been calculated. It is shown that contrary to NRQCD, the cross sections calculated in the framework of the light cone agree with experimental data.
