Investigation and Treatment of Cranial Nerve Tissue Illustrated Using the Example of the Accessory Nerve

The article gives an overview of the physical investigation of the cranial neural tissue exemplified by the accessory nerve. The relevant anatomy is portrayed. In addition, a detailed description of the conduction tests and the function of target tissues as well as of the neurodynamics involved and nerve palpation is presented. The aim of this article is to initiate a standardised procedure for the implementation of neurodynamic testing in cranial neural tissue. This needs to be simple to use in clinical practice during assessment and treatment.
