Modified Glaser reaction of terminal alkynes on KF/alumina

A variety of 1,3-diyne compounds are prepared in a solvent-free reaction on KF/alumina in the presence of catalytic amounts of Cu(OAc)(2)center dot H2O with up to 96% yields at room temperature.
