Influence of electrochemical deposition conditions on the texture of bismuth antimony alloys

Bi1-xSbx electrodeposition was carried out to investigate the effect of electrolysis parameters on crystal orientation. The films generally presented a fibre texture with the high density planes of the structure parallel to the substrate. Two fibre textures were observed: {10.1}(h) or {01.2}(h). It is demonstrated that high polarisation values promote the {01.2}(h) texture while low ones lead to a {10.1}(h) fibre texture. (c) 2005 Acta Materialia Inc. Published by Elsevier Ltd.
