A randomly perturbed Landau-Lifshitz-Slonczewski equation is transformed into a stochastic differential equation for free energy. The stochastic differential equation is defined in graphs that reflect the energy landscape of magnetic system. The stochastic differential equation for energy contains additional thermally generated drift terms that may appreciably affect slow time-scale magnetization dynamics. The effect of these thermal drift terms on energy distribution near equilibria and limit cycles (self-oscillations) is discussed. (C) 2006 American Institute of Physics.
