Endemic Bivalvia in ancient lakes

Analyses were made from the literature on the bivalve molluscs of the ancient lakes: Baikal, Caspian Sea, Ochrid. Khubsugul, Tanganyika, Titicaca, Biwa and Balkhash. Comments are given on faunistic and geographical similarities. The Bivalvia fauna of each lake is briefly reviewed.
